A selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) — it blocks estrogen feedback at the hypothalamus, raising LH and FSH. Prescribed for ovulation induction (Clomid), and used off-label in men to raise endogenous testosterone while preserving fertility.

Clomiphene is genuinely expensive in the US — it is a low-volume generic, so the usual downward pressure never arrived. Even the cheapest of four chains in one ZIP wanted $144 for a month.
We quote the product we recommend, not the cheapest one. A second brand runs $0.350/tablet, which would let us print 13.7× — but its manufacturer documentation is thin, so it is rated Partial. Against Serum Institute, the strongest credential in this directory, the figure is 6.9×.
⚠️ One caveat we are not going to hide. The lookup that produced $144.26 had Clomid — the brand — in the prescription field. If it priced brand rather than generic clomiphene, this multiple is overstated.
