This is not really a price story. There is no FDA-approved minoxidil + finasteride combination product in the United States.
Getting it domestically means a compounding pharmacy — expensive, inconsistent batch to batch, and dependent on finding a pharmacy that will make it. Overseas it is a licensed, mass-produced generic from a named manufacturer with a stable formulation.
So the comparison is not "cheaper", it is "available at all in a standardised form".

⚠️ Topical finasteride still produces measurable systemic absorption — the side-effect profile is reduced versus oral, not eliminated. Contraindicated in pregnancy, including handling.
